The Geek Code is a simple way to tell the entire world everything you want them to know about what is really important in your life. Although the code hasn't been updated in many years, it still tells a lot about a person.

| Category | Code | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Type | GCS | Geek of Computer Science |
| Dress | d-? | Clothes are not my number one priority in life. |
| Shape | s:+++ | I'm average height and I take up three movie seats. |
| Age | a+? | 43 is one better than the answer. I plan to live forever. |
| Computers | C+++$ | I can usually be found trying to make my computer do strange and wonderful things. Lucky for me, people actually will pay me to do this. |
| Unix | U*?++++$ | I've worked on so many different kinds of UNIX systems that I've probably forgotten more than most people will ever learn. |
| Perl | P+++$ | Perl is a powerful programming tool. I use it for Web CGI programming mostly. |
| Linux | L+ | UNIX is UNIX no matter what it's called. It still needs improvements before it can be called 'user friendly' |
| Emacs | !E--- | I have always perfered vi, mostly because it is available on all unix systems. I've evolved beyond the simple text editor though, though sometimes miss the powerful command line interface of vi. |
| World Wide Web | W+++$ | I design web sites for a living. I keep up to date with the latest technology. |
| Usenet News | N(++) | I used to read Usenet, in the dark time long ago before there was a World Wide Web. I've actually created an alt newsgroup. |
| Usenet Oracle | !o | I don't consult the Usenet Oracle. |
| Kibo | !K | I don't care about Kibo. |
| Windows | w++++$ | I beta tested Windows '95, '98, Me, 2000 and XP. I try to keep up with all forms of Microsoft technology. |
| OS/2 | !O | I loaded OS/2 on a machine once. It didn't work. It's dead. |
| Macintosh | M-- | I don't use a Mac. Mac's are designed for people who don't know what they are doing, (most) programmers are not idiots. |
| VMS | !V- | VMS is dead. Digital is no more. Compaq is no more. |
| Politics & Social Issues | PS--@ | Every political party is equally screwed up and corrupt. I make good money so more often, I agree with the conservative viewpoint. |
| Politics & Economic | PE+++ | Keep Goverment small, and out of my pockets. Taxes should be cut to a minimum. |
| Cypherpunks | Y+ | I have an interest and concern in privacy issues, but in reality I am not really all that active or vocal. I have digital certificates, and you can download them. |
| PGP | PGP+ | I'm PGP enabled, though I have to admit that I almost never use it. I prefer the digital certificate. I use Zendit for my PGP encryption. |
| Star Trek | t+ |
TOS: Classic, Animated: Fun, TNG: Good, DS9: Better, Voyager: Sucks, Enterprise: Doesn't totally suck
I: Boring, II: KAHN!!!, III: Ok, IV: Good, V: Don't give Shatner creatitve control, VI: Ok, VII: Ok, VIII: Ok, IX: Ok |
| Babylon 5 | 5+++ | B5 was the best series on TV, period. Crusade had bad music, but was good, for the few episodes it lasted. |
| X-Files | X++ | The X-Files was a great series. Dogget wasn't as bad as expected, though he was no replacement for Mulder left. |
| Role Playing | R(+++) | Don't play much anymore. I was a true D&D geek way before the world discovered it, before TSR started making millions off it, before WOTC bought TSR, before Hasbro bought WOTC. Actually, I almost never played true D&D, but one of several similar games. Long live the Cal Tech Rules! |
| Television | tv++ | I watch more TV then I should. My TV viewing habits were overhauled when I bought, my TiVo. You can learn more about my viewing habits. My friends like the 60" surround sound system. |
| Books | b++ | I don't read as much as I really should, but I still manage a few books a month. I read mostly Science Fiction. |
| Dilbert | DI++++ | I'm live Dilbert's life, even though I've never had a boss who really had pointy hair. I'm a member of the DNRC, and get the daily Dilbert sent to me via e-mail. |
| Doom | !D(++) | I've played through DOOM and DOOM II. I've hacked around with PWAD files. I've turned bad guys into Bevis & Butthead. I got bored with the whole thing. Of course DOOM is outdated now. |
| Geek Code | G | I know what the Geek Code is, and even did up this one. |
| Education | e(*) | I've been to college. But really, I learned everything there is to know about life from the "Hitchhiker's Trilogy." |
| Housing | h--(++) | I live in a house, where my friends will come over to visit every once in a while to talk about Geek things. They can usually find a place to sit amongst the computers and collections of collections. There is chinese & pizza delivery nearby. |
| Relationships | r+++ | I've been a married for 5 years, I'm happy. My wife is 14 years younger than I am, good looking, sexy, and lots of fun. We are both crazy, but that is why we get along so well. |
| Sex | y+++* | I'm a married male so I can get it whenever (ha ha) I want. I'm a pervert, and I like it. |
